Germany Carbon Management Strategy Key Principles (2024)

Germany published key principles for a Carbon Management Strategy and a draft amendment to the Carbon Dioxide Storage Act in February 2024. The federal cabinet adopted the key principles in May 2024. They prioritise CCS and CCU for hard-to-abate emissions and propose enabling CO2 transport and offshore storage while excluding marine protected areas.
