The Netherlands implemented the EU CCS Directive through amendments to the Mining Act and related legislation in 2011. The current Mining Act defines CO2 storage complexes and permanent geological storage, establishes exploration and storage permits, and provides the national legal basis for authorising and supervising offshore CO2 storage. It operates together with the Mining Decree, Mining Regulation, environmental permitting and EU emissions-accounting rules. This record represents the Dutch implementation layer and should not be confused with the separate SDE++ operating subsidy.
